Automated EquipmentWhether you need a single piece of equipment or a complete material handling system, Cannon has the engineering resources to help you achieve your objectives for additional growth and profits.

Our expertise and full range services include design, layout, fabrication, and installation, of automated equipment and systems for handling newspaper, dairy, bakery, poultry, and other consumer products from the packaging line to the point-of-purchase

State-of-the-Art manufacturing facilities allow us to achieve precise tolerances and consistent quality with every single project, from the production of standard equipment to the development of custom designed machinery.

A full time staff of electrical engineers and programming specialists will ensure that your system and equipment will perform efficiently and reliably.

Service and installation technicians are located at Cannon manufacturing sites throughout the country. These individuals are readily accessible 24 hours a day if you should ever require emergency parts or service.

Automated EquipmentApplication and Equipment Engineering
Along with our systems engineering services, we design and fabricate many of the pieces of equipment typically used in a material handling system. As a result, we are fully committed to making the system operable, not only from a design point-of-view, but also from the aspect of product performance.

Automated EquipmentAutomated Stack Sortation & Handling
Stack accumulation systems take conventional coolers to the next highest level of automation. Cases are conveyed on stacks from the filling room and assigned to lanes in the accumulation channels, providing buffer storage between production and order picking.

When you work with Cannon you can be confident that we have the resources and expertise to provide the best possible solution for your operations. Call us before you begin making plans for your next material handling project, and let us help you achieve your objectives for additional growth and profits.

Automated EquipmentAutomated Cart Loading
Cannon has pioneered a number of cart-based product distribution systems in the dairy, newspaper, and poultry industries with automatic cart and dolly loaders which provide further efficiencies in handling products shipped on wheels

High Rise Storage & Retrieval
Flow-through racks provide a high-density buffer for over 4,800 carts and dollies that are indexed through the storage channels on a first-in, first-out basis, ensuring proper rotation of dated product. The system cuts labor costs, reduces delivery errors, and speeds truck turn-around.

Automated EquipmentIn-Floor Conveyor Systems
The layout of this cooler matched the dairy’s order form and provides first-in, first-out storage and retrieval. It allows better organization and more efficient flow of product in and out of the cooler with 26 tractor-trailer loads shipped in an eight hour period.

Automated EquipmentCart Handling and Accumulation System
Automated cart handling systems provide buffer storage and dynamic linkage to other automated equipment such as cart loaders, and washers, and multiple cart storage lanes. Lanes in the accumulation system are available for immediate access to final production runs or can be used for temporary storage of advance product.

AE Plant

With sixty years experience in the dairy industry, Cannon Equipment has come to be a trusted and reliable source for automated material handling equipment and systems. Leading edge technology, design innovations and excellent service are standards of everyday operation at Cannon.

From casers and stackers to a completely automated vision sortation system for stack storage and handling – and everything in between – Cannon is the industries single source for material handling system design and integration.

At Cannon we adapt to fit your specific needs. Even though we have a complete line of after-the-filler handling machinery, we are always ready to custom design a particular piece of equipment or an entire building system.  No one does it better.

Plant Components

Casers
Cannon’s container handling and case packing capabilities are the best in the industry. With field-proven equipment that incorporates the latest developments in design and technology, these casers are made to meet you needs today and tomorrow. Whether those needs include casing bottled water, milk, juice, or small cross-section cartons; shipping in plastic, wire, or corrugated; Cannon has the unit to deliver just the right speed, economy, and performance.

Case Stackers
With three case stackers and a combination caser/stacker to choose from, you can be sure Cannon has the right model to meet your requirements for automated case stacking.

Proper nesting of cases is accomplished through an innovative four-sided guidance system that provides firm stacking at even high speed operation

Although stacking speeds will vary with case size, chain speeds and stack height, the Double Stacker is capable of stacking up to 35 cases per minute, 6 high; the Single Stacker up to 20 cases per minute; and the Step-Down Stacker up to 17 cases per minute.

The Caser Stacker offers the added benefit of saving space, combining what is traditionally offered as two separate pieces of equipment and eliminating the section of conveyor that would connect them. This combination unit features a unique gripper head that incorporates 50 percent fewer parts than previous designs, with mechanical components easily accessible for routine maintenance.

Vision Sortation System
An Automated Stack Sortation System utilizing Vision is a Cannon innovation that allows dairies to automate the storage and retrieval of cases on a single level. The Vision Sortation System identifies product by color, container size, and case patter. Stacks of cases, five high and six high are then stored inside accumulation lames to await automatic discharge as orders are being filled. This compact system maximizes your space utilization, reduces delivery errors, provides energy savings, and first-in, first-out retrieval.

Free Fall Loop Inverter
Inverts any standard bottom stacking dairy or wire case from an overhead conveyor and delivers it to a floor level conveyor ready for use.

Case Unstackers
For automatic unstacking or either plastic or wire dairy cases, Cannon has three different types of Case Unstackers to meet your plants particular needs. The Top-Out Unstacker separates cases from the top of each stack, as the name implies, and delivers cases to an elevated conveyor stack by stack. Lay-Down Unstackers receive cases in vertical stacks and then cantilever each stack into a prone position for case separation. Bottom-Out Unstackers are available in single or double models to deliver separated cases at floor level.

These rugged and durable Case Unstackers are available for operation using either hydraulics of pneumatics. Throughput rates depend upon chain speed, case size, and stack height.

Conveyors – Chain and Cable
Whether you need to convey stacks, cartons, or empty cases, Cannon has an innovative design to handle your product efficiently, time after time. Our ramped floor chains interact smoothly with drive sprockets to assure positive load transfer; flanged table chains provide superior strength and curve holding characteristics; and cables allow quiet, cost effective handling of empty cases.

Stack Palletizers & De-Palletizers
Models are available to accumulate stacks of fully loaded cases for push off and loading onto pallets, or to push empty stacks odd pallets and into a discharge conveyor.

Case Washers
Cannon offers two different types of case washing systems to accommodate the needs of a particular operation.

Jet Spray Case Washers effectively clean either plastic or wire cases. Features include: cleaning without downtime, easy access, constant water supply, and controlled temperature.

The Ultrasonic Case Washer uses ultrasonic sound to achieve a previously unattainable level of cleanliness while reducing energy and detergent usage, operating and drying costs, and maintenance time. This system will thoroughly clean cases in the thousands per hour range.
