This system was developed in response to our newspaper customers request for:

1. single point of interface between the mailroom and Cart Loading System
2. Better tracking of their papers through the distribution cycle

• Operating system for Windows 2000 client /server database – SQL Server
• Real time view of cart loading operations from any networked client – from mailroom to Distribution Centers
• Standardized interface to mailroom control system to download production data
• Order/Scheduling Manager to create, add or edit production runs
• Viewer available to any client for printing reports:
  • Production data/summary
  • Completed orders, order detail
  • Distribution Center receipt and verification of cart shipments

About the Cannon RFID Tracking System:

Tags are mounted to the cart, pallet or asset to be tracked

RFID Portals are placed at strategic logistical transfer points

Status/location of assets is wirelessly recorded when the tag passes through the RF portal field

RFID Workstations and network server database track realtime motion of assets through the system

PROCESS

1. Loaded cart is scanned and product, date/time information is recorded
2. Full cart is scanned when it leaves Mailroom-truck #, date/time information is updated
3. Full cart is scanned at Distribution Center and date/time information is updated
4. Empty cart is scanned when it leaves the Distribution Center and date/time is updated
5. Empty cart is scanned on the return to the Mailroom and date/time is recorded
